If I loved you, I would tell you this:
I would tell you that for all you know I have cancer. And that is why you should be kind to me. I would tell you that for all you know I have cancer that has spread into my liver and my bones and that now I understand there is no hope. If I loved you, I would say: you shouldn't be so hard on us. On me and on Sam.Because it may not even be just the cancer.~Robin Black, If I Loved You
If you love someone and you have a fatal illness you tell them about your impending death because you owe them the truth. For anybody else, it doesn't matter.
We all have an impending death.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but it's more imminent for some, than for others.
DeleteNo, all our deaths are just a heart beat away, we just don't know which one will be our last. A terminally ill person or a healthy athlete, no one can know which breath will be their last.
ReplyDeleteStatistically though, you know there is a high probability that you'll be here next year. Others are much less certain.
